What: For the fifth consecutive year, Nashville Ballet will host National Dance Day by offering free sample classes and choreography provided by the Fox hit reality show So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD).

The following classes will be offered as a part of Nashville Ballet’s National Dance Day:

10 - 10:45 a.m.
Children’s sampler class for ages 3-5 with props, parachutes and more
Adult Beginner Ballet for ages 18+
Hip Hop for all ages

11 - 11:45 a.m.
Adult Contemporary for ages 18+
Musical Theater for all ages

Noon - 1 p.m.
SYTYCD choreography for all ages

Following the sample classes, participants will have the opportunity to learn choreography provided by SYTYCD and perform as a group. The performance will be recorded and submitted to the SYTYCD website.

National Dance Day classes are samples of regular classes offered at School of Nashville Ballet. Special discounts will be offered on select School of Nashville Ballet classes for National Dance Day participants who register at the event. Discounts include 15% off fall registration for Studio Division, a new offering that allows ages 8-18 of any experience level to take classes in ballet, jazz, hip hop and musical theater on a flexible schedule. Plus, deals on Community Division class packages, for ages 18 and over. Purchase a Community Division 10-class package and receive two free classes or purchase a 24-class package and receive four free classes.

Who: Children and adults age 3 and up. No dance experience required!

When: Saturday, July 25 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Why: Launched in 2010 by SYTYCD co-creator Nigel Lythgoe, National Dance Day is an annual celebration that encourages Americans to embrace dance as a fun and positive way to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
