They develop balance, rhythm, and coordination while learning essential social skills and classroom etiquette.

Dance with me

AGES 2-3

Dance With Me introduces young children to movement, music, and creative play while developing coordination and rhythm. With the support of a parent, grandparent, or caregiver, dancers engage in imaginative adventures and peer-to-peer interaction. The goal of this class is to build confidence and encourage participation, helping children feel comfortable attending class independently in the future.

  • Annual Tuition: $775 + $50 Registration Fee
    Instructional Hours per Week: 45 minutes

JOY OF DANCE

AGES 3-4

This class nurtures creatively through imaginative, environment-inspired adventures. Students build gross motor skills, coordination, and body control while practicing foundational movements such as hopping on two feet, galloping, and marching. They also develop an awareness of how their bodies move through and relate to space.

CREATIVE MOVEMENT

AGES 4-5

In Creative Movement, students build confidence and self-esteem in a nurturing environment that encourages expressiveness and the exuberance of movement. Dancers develop greater control and coordination, while also strengthening listening, cooperation, and social skills through engaging, imaginative activities.

Separated into three levels, our Pre-Ballet classes require focus and active participation. Students begin to work on turnout and more complex movement patterns, building up to work at the barre, center, and across the floor. The curriculum provides a strong foundation for our Academy Division.

PRE-BALLET I

AGES 5-6

Pre-Ballet I is a 45-minute class transitioning students from playful activities to disciplined ballet study. Students begin to work on turnout and more complex movement patterns, building up to work at center and across the floor. The curriculum provides a strong link to the beginning levels of our Academy Division.

This 60-minute class prioritizes proper alignment and ballet fundamentals. Our Pre-Ballet levels require focus and active participation. Students begin to work on turnout and more complex movement patterns, building up to work at center and across the floor. The curriculum provides a strong link to the beginning levels of our Academy Division.

AGES 7-8

Our Pre-Ballet III classes are a 60-minute class introducing barre exercises and preparing students for traditional technique classes at the Academy and Community levels.

Enrollment Age Guidelines
Enrollment is determined by age. Children should meet age requirements listed with each class offering by August 17, 2026. All classes for ages 2-7 meet once per week (with the exception of Pre-Ballet III). It is recommended children take two semesters of each class prior to moving up. If you have any questions regarding your child’s placement, please email school@nashvilleballet.com.

Enrollment and Tuition Policy
School of Nashville Ballet reserves the right to cancel classes due to lack of enrollment. Canceled classes will be prorated and refunded. Enrollment is for the entire semester. There is no proration for scheduling conflicts. Classes are not transferable to other students.

In the case of serious injury or illness, refunds may be considered on an individual basis, are not guaranteed and may be subject to a 25% administration fee. Voluntary or involuntary withdrawal and missed classes are not considered eligible for refunds.
