John Oates and Striking Matches to Perform at Ballet’s Largest Annual Fundraiser

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Member John Oates and breakout duo Striking Matches will join forces with Nashville Ballet to perform at the company’s largest annual fundraising event, Ballet Ball 2015, continuing a tradition of combining ballet with Music City’s finest musicians and artists. 

On Saturday, March 7 at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, Oates will perform Hall & Oates hit She’s Gone and Lose it in Louisiana, a track off his 2014 solo album Good Road to Follow. Striking Matches will also play two selections, including When the Right One Comes Along, which was written for ABC’s Nashville, along with an original piece created specifically for this event.

Nashville Ballet and the Nashville Symphony are joining forces to present the family-friendly ballet Peter and the Wolf with live music on Saturday, Feb. 14, at 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. in TPAC’s Polk Theater. 

Beloved by parents and children alike for decades, Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev’s timeless tale follows brave young Peter after he mistakenly leaves his grandfather’s gate open, unleashing a memorable adventure for him and a cast of animal characters. For the first time in years, the Nashville Symphony presents live music for this production to create a more enriching arts experience for younger audiences.

Nashville Ballet spices up Valentine’s Day weekend with Attitude at TPAC’s Polk Theater from February 13-15, by combining contemporary dance from three cutting-edge choreographers with live music and visual art from various local artists.

Nashville Ballet has the opportunity to raise all the funds necessary to complete construction on its new building, with an anonymous pledge to match up to $1 million in donations. From now until Jan. 6, all gifts made to Nashville Ballet’s ELEVATE campaign to build the future of Nashville Ballet will be matched, dollar for dollar, doubling the impact of each donation.

Nashville's Nutcracker Adds Two Matinee Performances

Nashville Ballet returns with one of Nashville’s favorite annual holiday traditions, Nashville’s Nutcracker, on Dec. 6 for the seventh year in a row, presented by The Mall at Green Hills and Gateway Tire and Service Centers.

Due to popular demand, two matinee performances have been added at 2 p.m. on December 22 and December 23. Nashville Ballet’s cutting-edge Emergence series returns May 29-31 with another showcase of innovative, emerging talent, featuring music from Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Paul Moravec.
