Originally from San Francisco, CA, Summer Brown began her formal training at Pavlova Professional Coaching in Dallas, TX. At the age of 17, she attended San Francisco Ballet’s summer intensive on scholarship and continued her training the following year as a San Francisco Ballet Trainee. As a trainee, she performed with the company in Helgi Tomasson's Nutcracker, Giselle and Romeo & Juliet. She also worked with Val Caniparoli and Viktor Plotnikov as well as premiered in Dana Genshaft's, "Stereo is King" and Myles Thatcher's, "After Light".
Brown won the Bronze Medal at the Youth America Grand Prix Finals in 2021 where she received a full scholarship offer to the Princess Grace Academy. From there, she performed at the YAGP galas in Italy, New York and Tampa. In 2022, she was invited to compete at the Moscow International Ballet Competition and the Helsinki International Ballet Competition but was unable to attend.
Brown joined Nashville Ballet II in 2023. She performed with the company in Paul Vasterling's "Nutcracker", "Firebird", "Romeo & Juliet", "The Sleeping Beauty" and George Balanchine's "Serenade". With the second company, Brown performed new works by Nick Mullikin, "Four Canons", Maria Konrad, "Dia De Los Muertos" along with Sarah Tallman, Gabrielle Lamb and Penny Saunders. Other works include Maria Konrad's "Bronze" and "Maestro", Travis Bradley's "Love, unspoken" and Kitri in Don Quixote Suite.
Brown was promoted to Apprentice in 2025.
