Originally from San Francisco, California, Summer Brown began her formal training at Pavlova Professional Coaching in Dallas, Texas. At the age of 17, she attended San Francisco Ballet’s summer intensive on scholarship and continued her training the following year as a San Francisco Ballet Trainee. As a Trainee, she performed with the Company in Helgi Tomasson's The Nutcracker, Giselle and Romeo & Juliet. She has worked with Val Caniparoli and Viktor Plotnikov, as well as premiered in Dana Genshaft's Stereo is King and Myles Thatcher's After Light.
Brown won the Bronze Medal at the Youth America Grand Prix Finals in 2021, where she received a full scholarship offer to the Princess Grace Academy. From there, she performed at the YAGP galas in Italy, New York, and Tampa. In 2022, she was invited to compete at the Moscow International Ballet Competition and the Helsinki International Ballet Competition, but was unable to attend.
Brown joined NB2 in 2023. She performed with the company in Paul Vasterling's Nashville’s Nutcracker, Firebird, Romeo and Juliet, The Sleeping Beauty, and George Balanchine's Serenade. With NB2, Brown has performed new works like Nick Mullikin’s Four Canons and Maria Konrad’s Día De Los Muertos, along with works by Sarah Tallman, Gabrielle Lamb, and Penny Saunders. Other works include Maria Konrad's Bronze and Maestro, Travis Bradley's Love, unspoken, and Kitri in Don Quixote Suite.
Brown was promoted to Company Apprentice in 2025.
