BIO
Originally from Littleton, Massachusetts, Farin Taft began her ballet training at the age of three with Boston Ballet School under the direction of Margaret Tracey. She went on to complete the school’s Pre-Professional and Trainee divisions, performing on the Boston Opera House stage in productions such as Ivan Liška’s Le Corsaire, Marius Petipa’s Sleeping Beauty, and Mikko Nissinen’s Swan Lake. One of her most memorable experiences was performing the principal role in George Balanchine’s Walpurgisnacht in her final performance with the school.
In 2018, Taft relocated to Nashville to join Nashville Ballet’s second company, NB2. Over the next three seasons, she took part in the creation of new works, including Christopher Stuart’s New Beginnings and Gina Patterson’s 72 Steps, while also performing regularly with the main company. She was promoted to Company Apprentice in 2021 and became a full Company member in 2023. Since then, Taft has danced a wide range of repertoire, engaging with previously created works as well as performing in world premieres. She has brought to life works by Paul Vasterling, George Balanchine, Justin Peck, Twyla Tharp, Nick Mullikin, Mollie Sansone, Val Caniparoli, and Jermaine Spivey, among others—demonstrating her versatility across contemporary, classical, and neo-classical styles.
Outside the studio, Taft is pursuing a degree in Business Administration at Belmont University. She enjoys spending time outdoors, tackling new board games with friends, and exploring her love of cooking.
