Christian Arroyo discovered his passion for dance at the age of eight when he joined an after-school dance program at his elementary school. He later continued his training at Barbie Rhodes Dance Studio, where he studied ballet, contemporary, lyrical, tap, and hip hop, developing a strong foundation in multiple dance disciplines. During his five years at Barbie Rhodes Dance Studio, Arroyo demonstrated a natural talent for ballet, which inspired him to pursue a career as a professional ballet dancer.
In 2021, Arroyo attended the Houston Ballet Academy Summer Intensive, where he was awarded the Ben Stevenson Scholarship, a full scholarship to join the Academy’s year-round Pre-Professional Program. The following year, he was promoted to the Professional Program, where he trained under Ballet Master Claudio Muñoz and the esteemed faculty of Houston Ballet Academy. Throughout his four years at Houston Ballet Academy, Arroyo was provided with numerous performance opportunities, including company appearances in Stanton Welch AM’s The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, and Swan Lake. He also performed as a soloist in the Academy’s productions of Stanton Welch AM’s In Good Company and Swan Lake, and was featured as a soloist in Ilya Kozadayev’s world premiere production, Echoes.
In 2025, Arroyo joined NB2, where he performed alongside the company in Travis Bradley’s If I Can Dream and Paul Vasterling’s Nashville’s Nutcracker. As a member of NB2, he also performed in The Road, created for NB2 by Artistic Director & CEO Nick Mullikin, former Director of NB2 Maria Konrad’s Dear Charlie, Bruce Mark’s The Lark Ascending, and Sarah Tallman’s A Tale of Two Worlds.
