Originally from Waterford, Michigan, Joshua O’Connor began his dance training at age 12 at Rochester School of Dance, where he competed in several jazz and tap competitions. In 2018, at the age of 15, he began attending the Cary Ballet Conservatory to pursue their highest level of training.

During his time at Cary Ballet Conservatory, O’Connor performed various roles, most notably in Cary Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker and Don Quixote. He also competed in several competitions, including ADC IBC, where he placed among the top 3 and YAGP, where he received first place in Pittsburg and traveled to YAGP Finals.

In 2021, O’Connor joined NB2, Nashville Ballet’s official second company, and was promoted to a Company Apprentice for the 2022-23 season.

When he’s not in the studio, O’Connor enjoys going to the gym, personal training, and spending time with loved ones.
