Nashville Ballet is cooling things off this summer with the return of the largestNashville’s Nutcracker ticket discount of the year, “Christmas In July.” Starting Tuesday, July 1 and for the month of July only, tickets to Nashville Ballet’s holiday favorite Nashville’s Nutcracker will be discounted by $12. Tickets can be purchased at the Nashville Ballet website, at the TPAC Box Office or by calling (615) 782-4040. Use the discount code XMASJULY when purchasing to receive the discount.

The winter tradition, presented by The Mall at Green Hills and Gateway Tire and Service, returns to TPAC’s Jackson Hall for 10 performances Dec. 6-21. Nashville’s Nutcracker tells the story of young Clara and her Nutcracker as they visit magical lands inspired the 1897 Tennessee Centennial Exposition, including the Land of Snow and the Kingdom of the Sugar Plum Fairy.

In their excitement to celebrate Christmas in July, select characters from Nashville’s Nutcracker will make surprise public appearances at various locations throughout the city from July 1-31. Follow Nashville Ballet on Facebook for hints and clues about their surprise appearances.

Children ages 8-12 are invited to audition to perform alongside Nashville Ballet company members in this year’s performance of Nashville’s Nutcracker. This is the only opportunity the general public will have to perform on stage with Nashville Ballet and the Nashville Symphony this season. Open auditions will be held Sept. 7 and Sept. 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at The Martin Center for Nashville Ballet. Children must be 8 years old by Dec. 31, 2014, to audition. For complete audition information, please visit www.NashvilleBallet.com.

Tickets for all other 2014-2015 season performances also go on sale to the public starting July 1. The “Christmas In July” discount only applies to Nashville’s Nutcracker performances.
