BIO
Originally from Los Angeles, California, Emily Ireland-Buczek trained at the prestigious School of American Ballet (SAB) before joining NB2 in 2017. While a student at SAB, Ireland-Buczek had the privilege of performing in multiple annual workshop performances, including George Balanchine’s Scotch Symphony and The Four Temperaments, and Swan Lake. Ireland-Buczek was also featured in Teen Vogue’s Strictly Ballet web series as one of six students documented to showcase life as a student at SAB in 2014.

During her time in NB2, Ireland-Buczek worked alongside Nashville Ballet company dancers for several main stage productions. In three seasons, she performed in Paul Vasterling’s Romeo and Juliet, Carmina Burana, and Nashville’s Nutcracker, Christopher Stuart’s Seven Deadly Sins, George Balanchine’s Western Symphony, as well as Swan Lake and The Sleeping Beauty. Ireland-Buczek also received numerous opportunities to have new works created on her, including Gina Patterson’s 72 Steps, Stuart’s New Beginnings, Charlotte Boye-Christensen’s Lines to Read Between, and Michael Bearden’s Alegria. Following the success of her third season with NB2, Ireland-Buczek was promoted to Nashville Ballet’s company as a Patricia and Louis Todd Family Foundation apprentice for the 2020–21 season.

During Emily’s first year as an apprentice, she performed in several digital performances like Mollie Sansone’s Bootleg Sugarlips and Christopher Stuart’s Under the Lights. To close out the season, Ireland-Buczek performed Paul Vasterling’s Seasons live at Nashville’s acclaimed Ascend Amphitheater.

When not in the studio, Ireland-Buczek enjoys film photography, citing it as an opportunity to take pictures in the moment without the emphasis on perfection to which digital photography lends itself. She also recently began pursuing a degree in marketing.
