Nashville Ballet will celebrate National Dance Day for the eighth consecutive year on Saturday, July 28 by offering free sample classes and choreography provided by the Dizzy Feet Foundation.
The day will feature a sample of Nashville Ballet's regularly programmed Community Division Adult Classes (ages 18+) and a special youth musical theatre class. All ages are encouraged to participate on July 28 in honor of this annual nationwide celebration of dance.
National Dance Day schedule:
10 a.m. - 11 a.m. DANCEFIX (high-energy, dance workout class for all ages) OR
Adult Introduction to Ballet
11 a.m. - noon Adult Contemporary OR
Youth Musical Theatre
Noon - 1 p.m. Dizzy Feet Foundation choreography
Attendees will receive an exclusive 50% off discount on Nashville Ballet’s Community Division Adult class packs of 10 classes or more. Adult classes are offered on a rolling basis all year at locations in both Nashville and Brentwood. Class packages can be used on any of its adult offerings, including DANCEFIX, ballet and contemporary (all of which will be offered on National Dance Day).

National Dance Day offers a preview of regularly programmed School of Nashville Ballet classes. Adult classes are offered all year, and classes for ages 2-18 of all experience levels begin Monday, August 14. Click here for more information about School of Nashville Ballet.
No registration is required for National Dance Day; drop-ins welcome. Participation will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Established in 2010 by Dizzy Feet co-founder, Nigel Lythgoe, National Dance Day is an annual celebration dedicated to dance, that encourages Americans of all ages to incorporate dance into their lives. By creating a focused day of celebration, Dizzy Feet Foundation aims to educate the public about dance and its many benefits, as well as make dance accessible and inclusive to everyone.
Dizzy Feet Foundation (DFF) believes that participation in dance connects the mind and body, promotes health and well being, connects us with others and enables us to find joy through dance and movement. National Dance Day (NDD) is a day of celebrating dance, in all its forms, and takes place annually on the last Saturday in July. What is DANCEFIX?
Founded by Heather Britt, a professional dancer and choreographer from Cincinnati, DANCEFIX is a high-energy, adult dance workout class featuring original, diverse choreography taught by a team of highly trained dancers. From hip hop to jazz and Latin to lyrical, the fresh, fun choreography is designed for both new and experienced dancers. With an emphasis on creating health, happiness and connection to self and community through dance, the DANCEFIX atmosphere is positive and accessible, empowering students to try new things, take risks and move in every way.
