Training and Education
Anderson Young Ballet Theater, Anderson University
Originally from Anderson, Ind., Aleksandr Schroeder began his training at a small studio in his hometown called Anderson Young Ballet Theater. As a high school freshman, he was given the opportunity to train and perform as a part of Anderson University’s dance department. While there, Schroeder made his Kennedy Center debut.
After graduating high school in 2016, Schroeder joined NB2, Nashville Ballet’s official second company. In NB2, Schroeder developed his craft and his resume with opportunities to perform alongside the main company in productions such as The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Artistic Director Paul Vasterling’s Something Wicked and Nashville’s Nutcracker. He was also in the original cast of Vasterling’s Frank N. Stein, an anti-bullying outreach ballet created with middle and high school students in mind, as Frank, the title character.
When not in the studio, Schroeder enjoys cooking.
