Academy Division

Fall Semester begins Monday, August 5, 2013.

School of Nashville Ballet faculty members carefully nurture each student’s technical execution, artistic expression and maturity. Through careful development and attention to the syllabus, our instructors implement a curriculum that is designed to produce dancers with both expressivity and clear classical lines. This guidance enables students to develop their own artistry, while pure classical technique provides the vehicle for their artistic expression.

The School of Nashville Ballet actively encourages students to attend performances and to take an interest in members of the company. Students regularly interact with professional dancers, which creates a wonderful sense of community between the school and company.

Classroom Philosophy
Tradition, discipline and respect permeate an atmosphere of intense learning in our classes. We view ballet as an inner and outer discipline that nurtures respect and responsibility as well as a sense of pride in the distinguished tradition of ballet training.

We do not audition children for entry into the school. We believe that anychild who wishes to study ballet seriously – to pursue a ballet career or a love of dance – should have access to quality training.

Our Faculty
School of Nashville Ballet instructors are mature, experienced and trained to educate tomorrow's dancers and ballet lovers. Many current and former Nashville Ballet company members teach in the School of Nashville Ballet.

Performance Opportunities
Students have the opportunity to perform yearly in Nashville’s Nutcracker, and Levels 3 through 6 have the opportunity to participate in our spring performance. Additional performance opportunities arise as artistic programming is selected.
