About
The artistic expression and maturity of the dance student is carefully nurtured alongside a purity of technique that is often only demanded in the finest quality schools. Through careful and dedicated attention to pure classical technique, our teaching staff implements a rigorous and demanding syllabus designed to produce dancers with a clear classical line that has no affectations.
We do not audition children for entry into the school: our belief is that any child who wishes to study ballet seriously, whether they intend a ballet career or to immerse themselves in a love of ballet, has a right to top level training.
School of Nashville Ballet also actively encourages students to attend performances and to take an interest in the Nashville Ballet Company. Student interaction with company members happens on a regular basis and at Nashville Ballet we enjoy a wonderful sense of community between the school and company. The children have the opportunity to perform yearly in the Christmas Nutcracker and in our spring show.
Inside the classroom
In our classes, an air of tradition, discipline and good manners permeates an atmosphere of intense learning. The school uniform is strictly adhered to: ballet is an inner as well as outer discipline that nurtures respect and responsibility, along with a sense of pride in the distinguished tradition of ballet training.
Artistry is developed through thoughtful and careful guidance, and the skill of artistic expression is nurtured through the framework of pure classical technique.
Attention to technical accuracy and detail is absolute, with each correction explained in full and each child getting the attention they need. All children are trained to the highest artistic standard.
