Originally from the San Francisco area, she began her training at Contra Costa Ballet Centre under Richard Cammack and Zola Dishong. Zlatarev spent her summers training at School of American Ballet, Houston Ballet and Kirov Academy of Ballet, and began dancing full-time at Boston Ballet School during her senior year of high school. She also danced and trained with Nashville Ballet's second company (NB2) from 2008-2010.
Prior to returning to Nashville Ballet, Zlatarev danced with both Ballet Austin and Company C Contemporary Ballet in San Francisco. While there, she performed in works by Susan Jaffe, Maurice Causey, Patrick Corbin, Dennis Nahat, Yuri Zhukov and director Charles Anderson, as well as performed at New York City’s Joyce Theatre. She has also danced with BalletMet, Oakland Ballet and MOTION Dance Theatre.
In 2010, Zlatarev became a fully certified Pilates instructor through Balanced Body University. Since then, she has enjoyed helping a wide variety of people alleviate pain and gain strength through Pilates and truly enjoys connecting on a personal level with her students.
