Augusto Cezar Francisco da Silva, Company Dancer

An accomplished performer in his native Brazil, Augusto Cezar Francisco da Silva brings an impressive resume of international training to his position at Nashville Ballet.

Augusto began is training in Säo Paulo at the Conservatório Carlos Gomes in Campinas and continued to Escola de Artes ABAMBA (Associação de Benfeitores e Amigos Bailarinos Atores).

He then continued his training at Escola Banana Broadway, where he specialized in tap and Irish dance. His training at Escola Banana Broadway earned him a position in Companhia Banana Broadway. His extensive training continued as he began at Academia de Ballet Lina Penteado, then Especial Academia de Ballet where he as immediately accepted to the Companhia Brasileira de Danças Clássicas.

His training and experience provided him with the opportunity to represent Brazil at the 2010 USA International Ballet Competition in Jackson, Miss., where he was selected as a semi-finalist.

Since arriving at Nashville Ballet, Augusto has performed as the very entertaining Jester in Cinderella, Chinese in Nashville’s Nutcracker, the Watusi man in Salsa Dreams and a cowboy in Billy the Kid.

Augusto spends his time outside of the studio exploring Nashville and all that it has to offer.
