Job Description for Summer Intensive Counselor
Reports To: Summer Intensive Coordinator; School Manager
Area of Responsibility: Summer Intensive 2014
Wage Classification: Exempt
Nashville Ballet seeks qualified counselors to supervise students boarding at Belmont University during a summer dance program. Students will range in age from 11 to 22 years old. Counselors will be responsible for transporting students to and from the dance studios, coordinating meals, facilitating group activities and field trips, and providing students with the care and support needed during the program.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Counselor hours include mornings, evenings, overnights and weekends. Students will be in class from approximately 9am – 5pm on weekdays and 9am – 12pm on weekends, during which times counselors will rotate being on call for emergencies. Counselors who are not scheduled to be on call may consider these hours their free time and may go off site providing they stay within the Nashville area.
June 7 – Group 1 Chaperone Orientation & Move In
June 8 – Group 1 Student Check – In
June 9 – First Day Of Classes
June 21 – Group 2 Chaperone Orientation & Move In
June 22 – Group 2 Check In
July 25-26 – End Of Program & Move Out
Work Requirements and Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to provide leadership and manage.
Ability to make decisions and solve problems.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation: Starting at $200 per week with room and board. Salary commensurate with experience.
